This Privacy Policy explains how Scheidegger Systems ("Sweeper", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use the Sweeper application (the "App") on your SHOPLINE store. Sweeper performs bulk search-and-replace operations across your product catalog. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the information needed to operate the App:
- Store information. Your store handle, domain, store ID, and merchant ID, provided by SHOPLINE during installation and in webhook notifications.
- Authentication credentials. The OAuth access token issued by SHOPLINE that allows the App to access your store on your behalf, along with its granted permission scope and expiry.
- Product data. Product content (such as titles, descriptions, and related fields) is accessed through the SHOPLINE Admin API in order to find and replace text according to the rules you configure. We process this data to perform the operation you request.
- App configuration and activity. The search-and-replace rules you create and logs of the jobs you run (counts of products checked, matched, and updated, and any error messages), used to display progress and history.
We do not collect, store, or process the personal data of your customers (shoppers). Sweeper operates only on product catalog content and store-level configuration.
2. How We Use Information
- To authenticate the App with your store and maintain the connection.
- To perform the search-and-replace operations you initiate.
- To display rules, job progress, and history within the App.
- To manage your free trial and subscription status.
- To provide support, diagnose issues, and improve the App.
- To comply with legal obligations and SHOPLINE platform requirements.
We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How Information Is Shared
We share information only as necessary to operate the App:
- SHOPLINE. The App communicates with SHOPLINE's APIs to read and update your store data. Your use of SHOPLINE is governed by SHOPLINE's own privacy policy.
- Infrastructure providers. We rely on hosting and database providers to run the App. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your information only for as long as the App is installed and as needed to provide the service. In line with SHOPLINE's mandatory data-protection (GDPR) webhooks:

Customer data deletion (
customers/redact). If you request deletion of a customer's data, we delete any data associated with that customer that the App may hold (typically none, as Sweeper does not store shopper data). -
Store data deletion (
merchants/redact). Approximately 48 hours after you uninstall the App, SHOPLINE notifies us and we delete the data we hold for your store, including access tokens, rules, and job history.
We complete deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), HMAC-signature verification of all platform requests and webhooks, and restricted access to credentials. Access tokens are stored securely and are never exposed to third parties. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information at all times.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, uninstall the App or contact us using the details below.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you reside. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate.
